BOYCOTT COOKNSOLO is a campaign organized by local Philly residents.

Our campaign is a targeted boycott of all restaurants and products owned by the Philadelphia-based restaurant group CookNSolo. We call for a boycott because the owners of CookNSolo, celebrity chef Michael Solomonov and chef and co-owner Steve Cook, materially and ideologically support the ongoing occupation and genocide of Palestinians. Profits from their enterprises and from their fundraising efforts have been used to fund the occupation and to support pro-genocide interest groups in the U.S. and “Israel.” We also call for a boycott of CookNSolo because the company’s entire culinary empire is premised on the mission of using food and culture to promote the state of “Israel.” In the words of Michael Solomonov himself:

“What we’ve done in the kitchen...has been so much more productive for Israel than had I become a soldier.”

In calling for a boycott, we draw on a long tradition of using consumer boycotts as a tactic within social movements, from farm worker struggles to the South African anti-apartheid movement. We all spend money on food in Philadelphia, and we can use our pocketbooks to push back against the normalizers of occupation and apartheid in our city.
